In many action games, when you fight, it can feel very boring. The slashes lack force, creating an amateurish impression and failing to give players that satisfying "wow" feeling during combat. So, how can this be fixed?
There are many ways you can think of, and here are my suggestions:
1 - Shake Screen
RPG Maker has a "shake screen" command. Though it’s simple and people mostly seem to use it for… earthquakes, with the right settings, it can make each attack feel much more impactful.2 - SFX
The sound effects (SFX) you choose are also a key factor in determining whether the attacks feel satisfying or not. This is hard to explain in words because it depends on your sense of music and artistic taste. Play games that you think have great combat and pay attention to their sound effects.3 - VFX
Every attack should have visual effects—particles flying around, for instance. But just like with SFX, it heavily depends on your aesthetic sense to decide which VFX fits best and delivers the greatest feeling to players.4 - Stop Frame
When an attack lands on an enemy, some games pause the action for less than a second. This significantly enhances the sense of force. Many modern action games use this type of feedback. With these suggestions, I hope your game projects will feel more professional! <3
